Mildred Trueman, a graduate of the Montreal General Hospital School of Nursing, spent years in institutional and industrial nursing. But her hobby was always cooking. A native of New Brunswick’s Westmorland and Albert counties, she compiled the recipes in Favourite Recipes from Old New Brunswick Kitchens from faded notebooks, scraps of paper, and grandmothers’ memories.
