As a writer, Harry Bruce has worn many hats: journalist, playwright, editor, biographer, historian—with a focus on Atlantic Canadian stories and people. Bruce has twice won the Evelyn Richardson Memorial Literary Award, and has taken home numerous other literary awards and honours. His books include: The Man and the Empire: Frank Sobey, Down Home: Notes of a Maritime Son, An Illustrated History of Nova Scotia, and, most recently, Never Content: How Mavericks and Outsiders Made a Surprise Winner of Maritime Life.
