Harold “Dynamite” Payson (1928-2011) was a lobsterman, off the Maine coast, a builder of traditional plank-on-frame boats, a teacher of boatbuilding and model making at the WoodenBoat School in Brooklin, Maine, a force behind the easy-to-build plywood boat movement, and the author of several books on boatbuilding and model making.
