Description
JOE HEALY, editor, is a native of Central New York. He grew up fishing on Oneida Lake and area streams, and hunting upland birds and deer. An avid fly fisher and fly tier, he has traveled to fly-fishing destinations from Mexico to Ireland, Cape Cod to Alaska. His book Training a Young Pointer: How the Experts Developed My Bird Dog and Me was published in 2005 by Stackpole Books. Healy's freelance writing has appeared in Ski Press, Boston Globe Sunday Magazine, Outdoor Life, Salt Water Sportsman, Fly Tyer, and other magazines; he also wrote a fishing-travel column for the Miami Herald, and contributed to ESPN Outdoors.com. Joe is now the associate publisher of Fly Rod & Reel and lives with his family in Thomaston, Maine.
