Sarah and Ellen find out more than they ever wanted to know when they sneak onto Ellis's island, and Sarah discovers that even the immensely wealthy can have dark and ugly secrets.
Sarah is another smart and original protagonist from Mitzi Dale. She's wry, sardonic, flawed, hilarious, and far too critical of herself- in other words, a completely authentic teenaged character. This story deals with complex relationships and the terrible burdens seemingly "together" adults can carry.
